Better Homes Peterborough Loan Program: Two low-interest loan options for homeowners in the City of Peterborough, including financing against your property tax bill, which is a really exciting option. Check it out!

Ontario Home Renovation Savings Program 

This program offers up to $10,000 for eligible solar and battery systems. The key word is ‘eligible’, because eligibility is very narrow, and may not match your project objectives. Read our assessment here – the details are important to understand. Other notes for the OHRSP:

• Only roof mounted solar arrays are eligible, not ground mounts
• Vacation properties are eligible.
• It’s one grant per property, so a single owner can get the grant multiple times across multiple properties
• Grid tie only, no off grid
• Maximizing the grant requires the use of batteries
• Batteries are only eligible when installed together with solar
• Net metering is not eligible (see our assessment, above), and participating in the grant program will make you, and any future home owner, ineligible for net metering
• They will be auditing projects and can claw back the rebate if your project is found to be non-compliant
• We need to be closely involved in these applications, and we must submit a range of documents before and after the project
