Historic Family Farm
In 2018, a client approached us with the vision of revitalizing the historic family farm in Fenelon Falls. With an eye to environmental stewardship, the revitalization would include deep electrification and incorporate renewable energy solar and geothermal assets. Given our commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, Generation Solar was selected to design and build the required solar energy system.
From the beginning, the PV system was designed for expansion. In phase one, two ground mount sub-arrays were designed and built to provide the energy required for the farm’s current needs. The electrical panel and balance of system (BOS) were designed to facilitate the anticipated expansion. In 2020, we completed phase two by installing three additional ground mount sub-arrays and the required BOS components. We doubled the PV system size to provide for expanded operations at the farm and the installation of EV chargers. Generation Solar provided turn-key service including managing all utility applications and permits.
