Concerned with rising utility costs in Ontario, the Millbrook Medical Centre wanted to capitalize on advances in renewable energy technologies to hedge against energy cost volatility.

The community medical centre is housed in a 2 storey building in Millbrook and the roof provided more than its fair share of challenges. A number of obstructions (eg. roof top air conditioning units, vents, etc) and multiple roof sections (from additions and renovations) required some truly adaptive technology. In the end, we used a modular ballasted racking system to allow flexibility in placing modules around the various obstructions. Minor structural remediation to the existing open web joists ensured the structural requirements of the array were met.
